This event is presented by the Beaver Island Chamber of Commerce and the Beaver Island Boat Company, Fresh Air Aviation and Island Airways.
After your race enjoy a "dip" in the cool, pristine waters of Lake Michigan as the race ends on a Lake Michigan Beach! As you emerge from your quick swim enjoy a cold beer compliments' of the Beaver Island Chamber of Commerce.
There is probably no other race in the nation that will offer so much tranquility, natural beauty and offer a race experience in a location where time has slowed down. (But not qualifying times)! Look forward to abundant nature and solitude however also enjoy the fine museums, shops and art galleries that Beaver Island offers!
This race may not be for all marathoners as there will not be large crowds at every turn, and the roads are a combination of dirt, clay, some gravel, and of course the downtown area is on pavement. There will be natural beauty abound as you will experience the quiet peaceful environment of Beaver Island. You will view Lake Michigan and some "sand dunes" along the course. Unspoiled, unhurried: Beaver Island, Michigan.
